The Green Party is reluctantly accepting a compromise with the new Labour led government around the annual refugee intake.
Green Leader James Shaw was proposing a target of 2000 a year with the goal of gradually increasing the number to 5000.
However at an anti-racism rally Green MP Golriz Ghahraman says the compromise of 1500 is still more than the former National government was proposing during the election.
